BASIC ESTATE PLAN PACKAGE STARTING FROM $750

Depending on your situation, how much you spend on estate planning essentials will vary based on your needs. Regardless, the essentials demonstrate the obvious—you have to spend money now to save money in the long run. As a starting point, we are offering a basic estate planning package to ensure you are prepared if faced with incapacitation or death. Our package includes the following:

Initial Consultation

Let’s sit down and discuss your estate. In determining what works best for your particular situation,  we review your family structure, net worth, tax optimization, and other factors to evaluate the proper estate planning framework for your individualized needs.

Last Will and Testament

A Will is the foundation of any estate plan.  A properly executed Last Will and Testament outlines your last wishes and effectively transfers your property to your selected beneficiaries upon your death. We provide the two witnesses and notary services. All you need to do is show up to the will signing ceremony.

Example of a Last Will and Testament

Todd wants to ensure his baseball card collection goes to his brother and his house is sold with the proceeds being evenly split between his four children. He wants his estate planning lawyer to be the executor of the estate. He signs a Will specifying those exact directives. Upon Todd’s death, the Will is  filed with the court and the Executor is to carry out all of Todd’s wishes as stated in his will.

Power of Attorney (POA)

The POA gives authority to another person to act on your behalf in specific or all matters whether they are legal or financial. You can specify when the POA goes into effect and when it should expire.

Example of a Power of Attorney

Todd enters into a contract to sell his house. While the closing is pending, Todd suffers a head injury during a skiing trip and is in a coma for an indefinite period of time. Thankfully, while preparing his estate planning documents a few months ago, Todd signed a POA over to his brother Alex, to handle all legal matters on his behalf in case of Todd’s incapacitation.  Using a POA, Alex attends the closing and successfully transfers the title to the buyer.

Healthcare Proxy (HP)

A HP is an estate planning tool that doctors rely upon when tragedy strikes. The document allows you to appoint someone to make medical decisions on your behalf in the event you cannot communicate. If you are not married, absent a HP, the doctors will make the decisions for you.

Example of a Healthcare Proxy

Todd wants to ensure that if he is ever placed on life support, the machines are not unplugged for a minimum of six months in hopes that he makes a recovery. He appoints his brother Alex in his HP as his agent to make sure he has a fighting chance.
